An inked and painted Time War Eight. (Acrylic gouache and ink.)
And yes, his clock in the corner is broken. Poor Eight…
The finished version of the Tenth Doctor, done in ink and acrylic gouache.
I started with Ten because he’s my friend Sandra Franklin’s favorite Doctor and she’s been kindly sending me cool Doctor Who stuff from across the pond. (Plus I’d never hear the end of it if I didn’t do Tennant first. ;) )
darjeweling said: Okay so I don't normally do this, usually I scroll past cool artwork on my dash like 'WOW ok reblog' but.... ughhhhh just ALL of your Doctor sketches, jfk, they're utterly perfect, I cannot wait to see them all coloured up (your Ten one so far looks gorgeousss). Also Eight is my Doctor so I was there like ogling every inch of that one before moving onto what I assumed would be Nine BUT NOPE ANOTHER EIGHT and I think I squeaked aloud in surprise. So, yes. Thank you for the sharing your work xxx
Hahhaha!! Thank you so much for commenting!! You made my morning!
Eight is in my top three Doctors and I’ve been defending his honor for YEARS for people who just knew the tv movie. I think he’s WONDERFUL, and the next picture I’m painting is Time War Eight (by special request from a lot of people in my Doctor Who group, lol). Thanks again! :D
Started work on the Tenth Doctor…
A photocopy of the drawing from my sketchbook is taped next to it.
It’s being done in ink and acrylic gouache, using pens and watercolor brushes.
I finally finished my blog post about the making of the Doctor sketches. :P
My blog, The Watcher Tree:
Reblogging a sketchbook cartoon I drew back in November, waiting for the 50th anniversary special:
My two favorite Doctors.
(I love them ALL, but I have the special warm fuzzies for these two guys.)
Refurbishing the Tardis by Alda-Rana
This drawing’s idea comes from raineszramski , who noticed the new bookshelves in the Tardis console room in the series 8 trailers and imagined the Doctor going to Ikea.
(Maybe it would help if he used another screwdriver - Ikea furniture is mostly made of wood after all)
Some sketchbook silliness that came out of talking about Jon Pertwee and Venusian aikido. Here the 3rd Doctor is kicking some Sea Devil butt.
(The Sea Devil on the bottom right is all, “Don’t hurt me! Don’t hurt me!”)
I love me some kung fu Pertwee. :)He’s kicking him into the next page of the sketchbook, infact…
